Greetings! Welcome to the first issue of Residues.Com News! As an analytical laboratory dedicated to solving reliability challenges for our customers, Foresite is here to keep you updated on the latest developments in the electronics industry that will affect reliable field performance. We hope you find our newsletter informative & valuable!
Every month, Foresite's president and founder, Terry Munson, will address a reader or customer question here in Residues.Com News. This month, our question comes from Jarmo Kiiski of Scanfil Corporation about utilizing the cyanoacrylate fuming method, commonly used to collect fingerprints, to make invisible residues visible on circuit boards.
This case study from our monthly column in Circuits Assembly warns of the dangers of entrapped flux residues under QFN (Quad Flat No-Lead) chip packages, as seen in the corresponding photo to the left.
Foresite has teamed up with Dionex, the leading provider of ion chromatography equipment and supplies, to educate the electronics & semiconductor industry on the techniques and methods that are most effective in using ion chromatography as an ionic cleanliness assessment tool.
Foresite is assisting the SMTA (Surface Mount Technology Association) with the re-initiation of the Indiana Chapter. For all of our regional colleagues, the first chapter meeting will take place in Kokomo, IN on October 20th at 6:30 pm with Marie Cole of IBM as the guest speaker.
